After taking a summer break, wouldn't you know it it that I would start working on something and then have to take it out and start again? Here's the only look you'll get of that one.

I worked on this project for a couple of weeks and, just when I got to the end ribbing, I just happened to see something on Ravelry that looked way too similar to my design. It's funny how designers can be influenced by the same things and make things that are so much alike, without ever knowing it.

In this case, I decided I wasn't completely committed to my project and I decided to go back to the drawing board. My new project is working out nicely but I need to stay off Ravelry. hahahahaha

Since we're moving back into the beanie season, I want to remind you of this wonderful, lightweight Sweet Pea Beanie free crochet pattern. It takes about four hours of your time and looks great in any color. You could even make stripes or switch between two colors throughout. 

I don't normally make seasonal things. It's just not something that I crochet. My favorite things are baby blankets, regular blankets, womens clothing and matching hats/scarves sets. But, when I was working with Red Heart, sometimes, they would ask me to venture outside my comfort zone.

Here's my take on an adult Halloween Pirate Costume. My favorite part is the hat. I made long ties in the back that hang in the front and the skull and crossbones are adorable on the front. The free pattern is still available at Yarnspirations.
